We came across Poole Bay Garden Rooms on Instagram and got Jamie round for a quote. He came round really quickly to quote and was super flexible in terms of options for how much or little of the work we did ourselves. He also helped us sort out someone to remove a tree, who did an excellent and really quick job too! Jamie and the team got to work quickly digging a hole and laying the base, then the actual room went up super fast in less than a day. After that, plastering and electrics were done in no time (with a little break to give us time to paint and lay the floor ourselves - he also could do it too but we decided to do it ourselves to save some ££).

We are very impressed with the room, it has surpassed all expectations and is a great additional space to use. Jamie was really helpful and professional. I would 100% recommend getting a garden room and 1000% recommend Jamie and his team.

Thanks so much 😊 Hayley Davis

Five Reasons to Consider a Garden Room Need some extra space? Why not get us to build you the perfect room in your garden? Here are five good reasons you might like a garden room… Reason 1 . Give yourself a personal space away from the hustle and bustle of home life. We’ve all been hankering after a little more space this last year or so, and a garden room offers some tranquillity. It’s not the same as an extension or conservatory – soi it can be a bit more relaxing and private away from the main houses. A place to retreat and relax in. Reason 2. Enjoy your garden all year round! Or it could be somewhere to work in peace, as more and more of us have had to embrace working from home. Perhaps you want a home gym with a view or a separate games room for the kids. The wonderful thing about a garden room is that it can be anything you want it to be. It's been proven that getting outdoors and being in nature improves both our physical and mental wellbeing. Simply looking at nature scenes reduces blood pressure lowers stress and anger levels, releases muscle tension and ultimately can help us live longer. A garden room can give you access to the healing aspects of your garden all year long. Imagine cosy days looking out over your garden – no matter if it snows or rains. Make sure to include large windows that give you a good aspect and prepare to enjoy your outdoor space from a whole new perspective. Reason 3. Add value to your home. A garden room can add value to your property – worth doing whether you’re thinking of selling or not. Plus, it’s one of the simpler ways to make your property more desirable. The construction of a garden room, is usually simpler than an extension or loft conversion or knocking down internal walls, meaning you’ve added more space with a lot less hassle. So how much value could it really add? Well, that depends on the kind of room design you choose and the value of your property. However, it’s been estimated that you could increase the value anywhere between 5% and 10% and you could potentially make 5 times more than it would cost to build. For example: you own a property worth £600,000 and you decide to invest say £40,000 in a garden room. As previously mentioned, a garden room can enhance a property’s value by 5-10%. Taking inflation into account, over the last decade, house prices have increased by an average of 73% (some areas are seeing a 119% increase) according to the Office of National Statistics. This means that your £600,000 home could potentially be valued at £816,000 in five years’ time, averaging a 7.3% annual increase in capital appreciation. So, if you were to put your £40,000 into a garden room it could instantly boost the property’s value to £630,000. This could potentially rise to at least £856,000 in five years. Therefore, at a minimum your garden room, would pay for itself in this time. If it were to add 10% to your properties value, your home could be valued at £897,600 in five years, resulting in a gain of an additional £41,000 in value thanks to the garden room. Reason 4. An alternative to an extension. It’s no IKEA build, but a garden room is easier to construct than a home extension and because they are not attached to your home the build is less likely to interrupt daily life. In fact, with the right team on board a straightforward garden room (without added complications, such as plumbing) can be up within a day. Plus, you can build most kinds of garden rooms without the need for planning permission. Of course, if you live in a conservation area or are intending to build higher than 2.5 metres you’ll need to check with your local authority. Reason 5. A place for guests to stay. With your new garden room, you now have somewhere for your friends and family to stay. If you love hosting a good old-fashioned barbecue when the suns out, then a garden room could be the perfect finale. Alternatively, if you have teenagers who are craving space to themselves, your garden room could be a welcome retreat for them. Think of it as having a spare bedroom but with more privacy. There is so much potential with a garden room. We could list far more than 5 reasons (chill out room, art studio, music room, meditation and yoga studio, dojo to name just a few).
